My dad just got a new contract (he has a mystery shopping business and I work for him). It’s a huge job…which has meant a massive workload for the both of us in the past couple days. I’m not going to lie, I’m a bit stressed out. But, I’m SO excited, because with the total amount I’m making from him I’ll now be able to cover my entire student loan payment every month (yes, I have a MASSIVE monthly payment. I went to the most expensive damn school in the world).

And this month, S. and I will be out of debt (aside from the student loans but I don’t even count those anymore). Starting the last day of September we’ll be out of the red and will have enough left over to last us through the month of October. Which means we’ll be able to start saving…which means we’ll be leaving for a trip around the world that much sooner!

This is a boring entry, but I’m just happy to be a little more financially secure. Plus I don’t have the time or energy to write anything longer or more in depth. Sorry!

  4. Great to hear that the financial aspect is improving – Tell about how annoying it is to worry about money and debts…such a limitation! By the way, weren’t you previously in contact with someone in Santiago for a position as a soccer trainer or am I mistaking? and yes, I’ll email you!
    All the best Caroline

  5. Glad to hear about the UP in the income! Not to be annoying, but we stumbled on a guy by the name of Dave Ramsey who does financial counseling. We read his first book, “Financial Peace” and boy did it turn our lives around. It’s truly simple, but you WILL be rich by becoming disciplined with your money! Anyway, check him out if you’re intrested!

I have been really enjoying your pictures/photography!

  6. Caroline, I am still in touch with someone about the position, but they keep telling me that they’re still trying to get the money approved for the salary and until then I should just be patient…so who knows if it will ever really happen???

  7. wow!!! Debt payoff is a huge one on my list. It must feel very freeing.
By the way, you inspired Edgard and I. We are going to start saving now, for a trip around Europe on our 15th anniversary. I know it probably seems like forever away to you but it will go quick. The first 8 years of our marriage flew by, so 7 years from now should be a breeze. The goal is that we will be more financially secure and the kids will be at an age that it will be an experience of a lifetime for them. We will also choose and learn together (all four of us) a 3rd language sometime between now and then. I am so excited! Thanks for the inspiration.
