We’re moving! Ok, not really, but we’re changing from one floor to another. Let me explain. The first floor of our house (that my in-laws own) is a student residence. Yes, we’re married and we have roommates. Not cool. The second floor of the house has two bedrooms, a possible kitchen and a bathroom with no shower. And the third floor of the house is my half finished studio. Right now the second floor is unoccupied, but it’s in pretty bad shape. So we are going to fix it up a little bit (really just wax the floors and paint the walls and do some major cleaning) and move up there. It will be almost like having an apartment to ourselves, except that we’ll still share the kitchen with the people downstairs. Even though our new place has the pipes and everything hooked up to have a kitchen, we don’t want to invest money in buying a fridge, stove and sink.

I’m so excited about this because I’d really like to have some more privacy.

  1. Interesting. a Chilean version of Everybody Loves Raymond (cada uno ama a S?)
I am so glad that you are making the move. Although I have to say that I think my first year of marriage was worse. We had 2 roommates. Their names were mom and dad! Love the picture once again by the way. I think that S married you primarily for your cuteness. Don’t you hate it when people call you cute?

  2. Hilarous! You sound totally OK with it! Having to leave the country for some privacy!
Start walking around naked, or having sex in the kitchen! Scare her into knocking!
I love a renovation project! Have fun doing up your new space!

  3. Oh man do I hear you…my father in law has a key to our place and just walks in whenever he pleases – no knocking. He unfortunately discovered his son’s penchant for hanging out in the nude last month and hasn’t come back since! (Thank God I happened to be covered at the time…)

    Yay for a new space!

  5. I love decorating. Have fun.
I know what you mean about privacy. Once I moved out I never moved back, love the freedom. But then kids come and there is no privacy what so ever after that!

  6. Oh dear…that would be a little hard to handle, no matter how much you liked MIL. I loved my MIL and we were always respectful of each other’s space…as a matter of fact, my mother and I both have keys to each other’s homes, and we never come and go without clearing it with each other first…maybe you should invest in bars for your new upstairs window?
