Yep, it’s my birthday. I have completed my 24rd year on this earth successfully. To reward me, the universe gave me an eclipse. I’m special! Haha, as my friend Amanda said, as the moon was glowing red in the sky, “It’s like a birthday balloon given to you by god.” I imagined him booming down in Morgan Freeman’s voice (from Bruce Almighty, one of my favorite movies):

“Happy birthday my child. Enjoy my eclipse and don’t forget, thou shalt always do unto others…”

But, seriously, an eclipse that starts at 12:01 on my birthday must be a good omen. I’m feeling lucky :)

  9. Happy birthday!! I have been reading your blog now for a few months, but finally commenting now. I studied abroad in Santiago last year and loved it. Your writing style is so entertaining and I love reading about Chile. I miss it! Except for Transantiago, smog, and lack of food variety, of course. Keep up the awesome blog!

  14. A COMET ON YOUR BIRTHDAY?!?!?

Wow!!! I am so impressed (and jealous, all I ever got for my b-day was a cool day in the middle of a hot sweaty summer! -I’m an August chic-)

Happy happy happy b-day Mamacita, and many more!

  15. Okay so, I’m feeling a little bit like a stalker here, because I have no idea how you knew that I added you to my blogroll….but….thanks for leaving a message! I’m one of those people that love reading about everybody else because it’s so fascinating, and my life is so pitifully boring. I love your blog, and your writing style. Um….well…I”m just going to leave it at that. Bye!!!

  16. another happy birthday from Minnesota!

what a special treat for a special person. congrats on a great year, and i hope the next is even better.

PS so young! i forget you are a mid-20-something…your photos and some of your life experiences make you seem older (in a mature way, not in a crotchety old-person way)

  17. Indeed special! I’ve never had an eclipse on my birthday. In fact, the next lunar eclipse won’t be til 2012 now.

Hope you enjoyed your day and post some pictures of all the fun times you had :-)
