The time we spent in Algarrobo was so nice and relaxing. It was the perfect get away — no computers and yes, there was a TV, but we didn’t watch it. I loved being able to unplug for a while. But now I’m back, editing photos and writing stories again. I just put up a couple more artsy fartsy style photos on my photography blog and check back again soon because I’ll be posting Emily and Rodolfo’s not-really-engagement photos this week.

But, for now, here are S. and Papito, the two loves of my life, and me at the beach house. I spend a lot of time taking pictures of other people, but not necessarily of the people I see on a day to day basis so I was really happy to grab these shots while we were away on our little mini vacation. Some of these were taken with my new 40D, while others were shot with our Canon point and shoot. Tomorrow I’ll post pictures with everyone who was there!

  3. Beautiful! Looking forward to seeing more. Unplugging is such a great feeling. The more I blog and write the less I feel able to do it. The best solution is to go somewhere that it isn’t an option. :) Works every time.

  8. 4,5, and 6 are the best of you and your loves! You look so much like Rita in #7! Beautiful! :)

  9. thanks Amanda!

Julie, hahaha, he NEVER takes it off…if he does it’s only to replace it with my Grandville soccer sweatshirt :)

Lori, couldn’t agree more. The more I write the more drained I get. That’s why it’s so nice to unplug!

PQ, it’s from a department store down here called Falabella. It’s pretty crappy quality, the lining is coming out, but I still love it! Maybe when I go on my trip around the world I can pass it on to you.

Lindsey, down here we could consider it “vintage,” hahahaha!!!!

Clare, I love love love that one too!!!!

Anonymous, she yawns all the time and makes me tired too…

Joy, awww, thanks, I’ll take that I look like Rita as a big compliment!

  10. I love the colours of your pictures, they are so 70′!
You know what have I realized since I read your blog?: yes, chilean people love mayonesa, and yes, chilean people in stores have a “no we can not do that”-chip inside the heads…
And this with the “no, we can not” is driving me crazy lately…
    Regards!

  11. Irantzu, that’s so funny because I feel like the “No, we can’t,” attitude is something I’ve finally just accepted as a part of the culture here! I’m trying not to let it frustrate me as much anymore :)

  14. I could not figure out what “yorn” meant but I got it now.

Wow, Papito looks way huger in these pictures than the earlier ones. Are you sure the vet was right about how much she would grow (or not grow?).

And that tongue is looooooooooong. Wow! I’m not sure I see the resemblance to me in pic 7 as Evil Joy says, but then again, I never see myself in action so I don’t really know what I look like really, but anyway I’ll take it as a compliment too!! Thanks Evil Joy.

  15. O.G., it’s true, I’m not going to deny it. I have been converted into a total dog lover!

    T.D., thanks!

Mom, I actually just weighed Papito and she’s just .25 kilos bigger than she was when we got her. Maybe I’m just smaller than the last time you saw pictures making her look bigger. HA. Yeah right :P

  16. LOVE the yawny puppy pic. And the rest, too, but oh my god, I just want to snag her up for my own.
