We just purchased our flights within Europe!

Our itinerary is looking like this:

August 21nd: NYC-Geneva

August 22nd-29th: Switzerland

August 30th-September 5: Munich, Germany (we’ll be traveling on land from Geneva to Munich)

September 5th-10th: Dublin, Ireland

September 10th-16th: Paris, France

September 16th-19th: Oslo, Norway

September 19th – ???: Milan, Italy

From there we don’t fly home until October 11th, back out of Geneva. So we’re not sure whether we’ll just travel around Italy for all our remaining time, go back to Switzerland, travel by train elsewhere, who knows. The possibilities are endless!

  1. Hooray! The schedule looks awesome! I've been to Munich and Dublin and if you haven't been you are going to love them. Such great photo opportunities! In Munich, if you like soccer/futebol take the metro out to the Allianz stadium and look around. Very cool. Also the beer gardens in the middle of the Englischer garten are awesome! If you get outside Dublin City, take the DART to Howth for amazing seafood, to look at the seals in the harbor and do the clif walk.

Okay, I know you didn't ask for any of these suggestions, but I can't hear about Europe and not offer. :) Have an awesome time!!

  6. Ooooh very exciting. I used to live in Italy. If you're in Milano for a few days, you should take the Metro up to the Convent that has the fresco of the Last Supper. That last time I was there was during all that ridiculous hype over the DaVinci Code novel. Met some American tourists who told me all about their 200 eu special Da Vinci code tour. They saw and heard everything I did. I paid 11.75 eu, which is all the convent charged for admittance. The woman was PISSED at her hubby lol.

Anyhow, there are always the requisites like Venice (I used to live in Trieste, near there) if you have a chance though, Verona is beautiful and Maranello is nearby if you've any interest in seeing the Ferrari Gallery. Also Bologna was lovely and is home to the world's first and therefore oldest University as well as the Ducati Gallery. I got to see both when I went to a Slipknot concert there ;) Rome is lovely, just watch out for the dog poop and crowds of tourists. I prefer the less touristy places. One place no one mentions, that's gorgeous, is Ljubljana, Slovenia. Very, very beautiful walking city. I used to drive there in my smart car from Trieste… maybe 1 1/2 hrs away? Slovenia sold stuff like winterfresh gum which I couldn't find in Italy. Sometimes you have cravings, you know? Have fun and please for the love of all that is good order some pizza while you're there. I haven't had a pizza that good since I left Italy :(

  7. nice! I love Oslo, extremely expensive (even compared to my home Sweden) but if the weather is great, you'll be in for a nice weekend.

you should stop by Stockholm after Oslo. of course since I now live here (former California girl), it's a gorgeous city during any season. because of the archipelago, you have lots to see and being one of the capital cities of europe that never suffered through the world wars, you can really see how buildings age. plus, sthlm is a photographers dream city.

and ya, i can be your tourguide or at least hook you up with places and such. =)
