In case you missed it, Tom and Sarah are two of my best friends in the whole wide world. And the world is pretty damn wide. I would know. I live at the end of it.

To say that Tom is stubborn as a mule would probably be undermining the mule’s stubbornnes. But, this was my first time seeing him since he and Sarah had begun seriously dating and the change in him was nearly tangible. As I went through the week of wedding preparations with them and I watched Sarah agonize over whether the plants on stage at the church were symmetrical or not, asking Tom to move them again and again, I kept waiting for Tom to lose his patience. As Sarah told me the story of how they went to apply for their marriage license a few days before the wedding and how she forgot to bring her birth certificate, so they couldn’t get it that day as planned, I listened for her to tell me about the moment when Tom freaked out. But Tom never did lose his patience with her (that I saw). As cliche as it may sound to say, I think Sarah has made Tom a better man. I got a lump in my throat as I typed that, because it’s true.

And Tom isn’t the only one who’s changed since they started their relationship. I can see a new confidence in Sarah. She stands a little taller. She speaks with clarity in her voice. She moves with a certainty that she didn’t have before. I know that, in part, that’s because she’s grown up. But I believe that, in larger part, it’s because of Tom. In Sarah’s world of ups and downs in her head — “Am I good enough? I AM! No wait, no, I’m not. I can’t do this. Yeah, maybe I will do this. Well, I don’t know” — he is a constant. He is a constant belief in her, a steady stream of, “Sarah, YES, you can.” He is her rock. Tom is exactly what Sarah needs.

I’ve mentioned it a time or two already on this blog, but on their wedding day I felt my heart overflowing with love for them — with love for them as two incredible individuals and as a couple — because they’re as close to perfect for each other as I can imagine any two people being.

This my final Sarah and Tom blog post, so I hope you guys like the pictures. :) Next week…Heather and Nick’s Cheesehead wedding, coming up! And then from there…for those of you who ummmm, don’t like love and are sick of these pictures (?!? What’s wrong with you?!?) we’ll be off to Chicago, NYC and then Europe, so I’ll have lots of travel photos/stories to post!

  3. I agree with Lydia, this location is awesome! So fun and different.

I also really like seeing all these creative portraits of the wedding party from you…obviously in Chile there usually is no wedding party, so it's fun to see something new. And they turned out just as cool as your usually artistic photos of the couple themselves!

  5. Awesome!! One of my best friends wants to get married, but her boyfriend is resisting because he thinks weddings are stupid — I think I'll refer him to your blog as evidence of how unique and fun and generally cool weddings can be.

I love the kissing on the carousel one, and the second to last one where they're all on the path in front of the windmill. Fantastic.

  7. Oh no, this can't be it! What about reception pictures? I agree with everyone else – these pictures are my favorite. I thought I was bias because I happen to like the bride and groom a lot but the colors are just so fun and bright. I love your descriptions of their perfection for each other as well.

I agree with some of the other commenters – I think the love you have for these two shown through the pictures – making them extra special!
