I was blown away by the Cliffs of Moher (near Galway, Ireland, on the West coast, but I can’t remember exactly what city they’re in).

This photo on the right isn’t actually Seba taking a nap at the Cliffs of Moher, it’s on a (much smaller) rocky cliff edge on our way home.

At the real Cliffs, you can’t go near the edge, or this could happen:

True story — there were some American tourists, a couple of guys and they started betting each other to climb out on the ledge to get a picture. Multiple tourists have died doing the same, which is why there are signs everywhere and a giant fence up. These specific tourists were rowdy and obnoxious and then one of them got the courage, whooped it up, and ran out to the end. I hoped he would stumble enough to be scared, but not actually fall and die (I’m not that mean). In the mean time, guards were there blowing whistles and trying to call him to come back while this dude’s friends egged this jackass on.

Seba looked at me and said, “And you wonder why people hate your country?”

I don’t wonder. I know.

ANYWAY.

Oh no she didn’t go to the Cliffs of Moher in her pajamas — oh yes she did.

I could not even believe what a gorgeous day it was the day we headed to the cliffs, since it had, of course, been raining cats and dogs for the previous three days straight!

  1. It's called the law of natural selection. I say let the guy go over the edge – it benefits the gene pool. :p

Awesome photos, as usual. I'm so glad you had nice weather for your visit to such a spectacular place.
