Cruising Down the Amazon!!!

I cannot believe this — I’m still pinching myself. But, we entered a contest with Unique Destinations travel agency here in Chile and WON!

I swear, I fell out of my chair when I got an email with the details:

Here is what you have won:
5 Day / 4 Night Package on the Delfin II for two people
Includes: All meals on board, accommodation in a luxury suite, all excursions, transfers to and from the vessel when arriving on recommended flights, entrance fees to National Reserves.
Value: USD $4730.00

I have the best luck! So we will be going on a cruise out of Peru down the Amazon with daily stops for hiking, wildlife gawking and visiting villages. I would normally say that a cruise isn’t really our thing, but this doesn’t sound typical at all.

We went on their website and checked out the boat and everything and it looks pretty kick ass. And, as Seba pointed out, now we get to fist pump in the Amazon :) CAN’T WAIT!

  1. Congratulations, sounds like an auspicious beginning to the new year. I was hoping to make 2010 a banner year for me as well but it's going to be hard to trump an Amazonian cruise. Have a great trip and take plenty of pictures. Of course you'll take plenty of pictures. Wear plenty of bug spray, then.

  2. Oh, you're so lucky!!!!!
    As if you haven't travelled a lot already!
    Make sure to take tons of pictures.
    And if you must swim in the river, be sure to ask if there are pirañas in there first. I learned the hard way.

  5. I'm so, so excited for you! And for me, in a selfish way, because I can't wait to see what kinds of amazing pictures you take. I love the idea of cruising and being somewhere amazing and new every day — we're hiking at almost all of the stops we're making on our cruise (less than a month! AAAHHHH!). Cannot WAIT to hear all about your trip!

  8. EEEK, that's SCARY!!! It says there's piranha fishing (which I actually I jokingly told Seba we were going to go piranha fishing and he looked up activities on the cruise that that really is one of them). So probably not too much swimming…

    Did you get bit???
