Let me introduce you to Yan and Karla — the first couple we’ve photographed that’s a foreign man marrying a Chilena instead of vice versa. Yan is Canadian and Karla is Chilean right down to her core (and to her passport, of course). They met while Yan was just visiting and he ended up staying for Karla! Not many men are willing to move to The End of the World for romance. You could say he’s whipped, or you could say he’s in love. :P Either way you put it, Yan bravely came down to Chile to be with his woman.

Karla is an absolute ray of light — one of the kindest, happiest people, Chilean or otherwise that I’ve ever met. I swear, I should’ve called her the other day when I was hating Chile because I’m sure talking to her would’ve had me coming out like, MAN, I LOVE this country and ALL the Chileans in it…even the post office workers!!!

We started off their session in Parque Forestal…love this old hippy van parked near their house!

We drove by this bridge earlier in the day and I almost caused an accident because I screamed out, “Seba STOP!” He probably thought he was about to hit a small child or something. But I just wanted to tell him that I HAD to photograph someone here. Mission accomplished. Just as cool as I had envisioned.

Mision cumplida. Salio tan bakan como habia imaginado.

And then we moved to Bellavista. Karla told me she wanted bright colors for her session. I hope this delivers :)

These are my two favorites of the day. I am always looking for a way to play with shadows. Loooooove the combo of the grafiti heart, how serene and beautiful Karla looks with Yan’s shadow watching her. LOVE.

And I adore this one even more. I love the picture and I love Karla in the picture. ROCKSTAR.

Y esta la adoro aun mas. Amo la foto y amo a la Karla en la foto. ROCKSTAR.
