   Cotillón!!! Our wedding was so tame and boring that we never handed ours out, and we returned them to Jumbo the next day.
   Seriously.

   (That's what happens when you don't let Chileans smoke at weddings, at least at our wedding!)

   Actually a Cotillion is (or was) a type of of dance which began in France around the time of the French Revolution. Probably before that, come to think of it. It's similar to a Quadrille in that it was a patterned dance usually involving four couples. It comes from the french for petticoat. Those French, always making it about their undies. There are Cotillion Balls though, you're not wrong. That's more of an American thing, used for presenting debutantes. Yeah, I'm a history geek, sorry.

   I must say though, the Chilean cotillon sounds infinitely more fun. It actually sounds alot like some of the costume wares that are popular during Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Actually those feather boas are popular there year round and the feathers are a real pain to get off your clothes. Those things stick to everything.

    I only know what Chilean cotillon is. Here it's just the decorations they bring out in the middle of wedding receptions. I really like the tradition, it's fun!

    And while I'm not a history geek, I am a word geek so I enjoyed the explanation!

    BCBG Max Azria on sale! I just got this dress, actually because I was sick of wearing the same dress to every wedding every weekend and I wanted to feel more chic. I'm glad you think that's a mission accomplished

    Couldn't they go outside to smoke? In my 30 weddings of experience the party dies early because the ratio of old people to young people is too high. I think people are embarrassed to get drunk in front of grandma
