I love photographing pregnant women. It’s such an exciting time — you can see the anticipation in every move they make. Not to mention that they’re beautiful. I want to get pregnant just so I can have “the glow,” that everyone talks about (except I don’t really. I just want “the glow,” without the baby, haha). Maria Paz was no exception. There was just a radiance and a peace on her face. Oh yeah. And I think that Alberto is just a little bit excited too :)

Me encanta fotografiar mujeres embarazadas.

Fall/winter time is the best. Instead of 10 minutes of golden perfect light, you get two + solid hours. Amazing!

This picture might just be my favorite of the bunch. It’s a little abstract, but my favorites always are! I think it’s cool the way the curves on the tree follow the curve of her body.

To me, this picture captures that feeling of peace that I was talking about. Maria Paz looks so gorgeous.

Love this shot Seba took of the wedding rings. First comes love, then comes marriage…

Seba was experimenting and I thought this came out kind of fun! Weird. But, fun.

I know, I know — every photograph in the world does the whole sun in the kiss thing. But my shot almost has a baby in it! That makes it much cooler, in my book :P

  8. I loooooove pregnant women pictures too! Pregnancy is such a short length of time in the grand scheme that it should be captured. I really wanted to have some pictures taken during my last pregnancy but I just don't have a Kyle Hepp around! Please come live by me :) Oh and about the glow, you only feel the glow about one month out of the nine. Otherwise it's just a whirl of nausea, feeling fat, and heartburn. So it's probably not worth it until you are ready for a little one :) I just love your work!

  11. So utterly utterly warm, cosy and loving. These images leave *me* with a fantastic glow Kyle. Maria and Alberto must absolutely love them, and Matilda is going to treasure them as she grows.

  12. Okay my favorites…I LOVE number 4, the one of them talking with all that green around. You captured such an intimate and touching moment in that photo. And I love the setting with all the green and natural soft light. I also love 7, that smile is just beaming! The belly/ring shot in number 10 is so perfect! And I adore 10 and 11, the setting is so beautiful and I love the lighting! And with the last kiss shot, I say who cares if the glowing light with the kiss is popular. It looks so great and everybody deserves to have a picture of them like that! I just love those types of dreamy soft effects. Great job!

  15. Hey, congrats, that's exciting! We'll be in the U.S. starting end of July, but as of right now we don't have any plans to head to New Orleans. However, if you want to fly us out or get together a couple people that would book sessions to offset the travel costs we could definitely come your way!

  19. Haha, how about you come visit Michigan when I'm there. And ummm, make your next pregnancy coincide with that visit :)

I don't even believe that you felt fat and sick during your pregnancy. From all the pictures I would've never guessed it, you always look so good.

  23. Too much beautiful light and sun flare is never a bad thing — just because it's been done before doesn't make it bad, just popular! I'm glad you like the photos so much Lucie, you are so sweet!

  24. Very nice job with the maternity shots. You stayed away from the cheesy photos and really made the couple look beautiful.

  28. They're all filmed on our same camera that we use for everything — a 5d Mark II. It takes beautiful videos. Now if only I just knew how to use it for that purpose!

    Comment by kylehepp — April 21, 2010 @ 7:41 am

  29. Thanks Candice! Seba actually took that shot by zooming out with a long exposure, we don't have a lens baby!
