I’m not a particularly sentimental person. Granted, I tear up at weddings all the time. But I never really stop to think about why I’m crying. But after photographing Vero and Fernando’s wedding ceremony — simple and sweet and full of love, I had a moment to take it all in, as I got in the car to drive to Terrazas de la Reina for the reception.

I got so choked up.

Y me emocione.

Really reflecting on what a wedding is stopped me in my tracks. There are over 6 billion people in this world. SIX BILLION PEOPLE. And Vero and Fernando found each other in all the chaos. They found each other and chose to make a vow for life, in front of God, in front of their family, in front of their friends. That’s powerful. And so, so very beautiful.

It hit me like a ton of bricks. We are incredibly blessed to be a part of something so awesome. I was so happy to be there taking pictures. Thank you, Vero and Fernando.

Gracias, Vero y Fernando.

Loved Veronica’s vintage looking shoes and dress. So cool.

So cool.

Giving the bride tips on how to strut her stuff entering the church. Haha, this shot cracks me up!

The shot below is my favorite image of the night. Obsessed with it. I think it’s something about the symmetry, because I have the same shot from two steps closer without the white wall on either side and the green plants on either side and it just doesn’t do it for me. And then the way the crosses balance each other out, and there’s one perfect strand of hair falling down Vero’s back. I just love this one. I actually started crying again when I saw it. Sap :)

Me encanta. :)

  7. I remember when i first started looking at your pictures i stereotyped your style as sort of an old photograph look, looking at these photos, which i quite enjoyed (especially the dancing sequence heheh!) i realized how different they are… so bright, crisp. i love the colors and the light. im really glad you posted a picture of that kid crawling around haha. of course the focus of every wedding is the happy couple and i love the detail shots, but i'm sure there are a handful of those little mischievous and oblivious toddlers at each one playing around under the pews or tables at dinner hahah. very cute

  24. What is it with you and photographing the most gorgeous people in the world??? Her dress is killer. I want to get a shorter version of it in black to wear out at night. All of these shots are perfection. The one of them dancing make ME cry!

  29. Wow. Wow wow wow. That dress is stunning! And the photography….wow. I may need to fly you to where ever it is I get married whenever that may happen. Australia or England? Or somewhere in the middle…

You take such beautiful shots! What I like most is that you just capture the emotions :-) so gorgeous!!

  30. I know, I loved her dress too! One of the definite advantages to living in Chile is that so many brides get really cool custom-made dresses because it's not as absurdly expensive as it would be in the U.S. (or I imagine in Europe or Australia). And I vote that you get married in Australia and we come shoot it there! That's a continent we haven't shot on yet and I hear the light and the brides are beautiful down under :)
