This was the first of five sessions for us in a three day time span, and it was a great way to start off the weekend. I was so happy to come back and get the chance to take more pretty pictures of Becca, Gabe and Luli. They have gotten HUGE since the last time I saw them — well, not you Becca, you look very skinny and pretty and not-huge, like always :) But anyway, it just amazed me how much they’ve grown in a year. This time around was just as fun as the last!

The kind of family session they did is my absolute favorite kind to shoot. There’s no need to dress your kids up in clothes they never wear, matching khakis and white shirts that they feel uncomfortable in that you don’t want to get dirty, there’s no need to stress out worrying about a little snot, no faking cheesy smiles posed for the camera. Instead, do like Becca, take your kids to a park, play with them, let them be their awesome little selves, and let us chase with cameras. It’s a tried and true method.

If you wouldn’t cherish a photo like this of your child, there’s something wrong with you. I LOVE THIS. Monkey face!!!

Gabe rocked it out with his skateboard.

If I were Becca I would frame the below shot right alongside Luli’s monkey face.

Like any good big brother, he’s starting to torture his sister at a young age.

The benefits of having a young mother — you can play the Mom’s A Horse game!!!

I love this little family. Aren’t they wonderful???

  5. Kids have to the best models because they don't pose, they act completely normal. What a lovely family!!! The monkey shot is gold.

  9. These photos remind me of when I was a kid. I don't know why – just something about playing in trees. Leaves. Wooly jumpers. Big smiles!

  11. LOVE the way you captured the fun. I love these types of photos so much more than posed shots. Which is a big reason why I love your work so much – and because you and Seba are uber talented, obviously. :)
