We’re like twins with this couple. We’re about the same age. We both got married young, and have been married for about the same amount of time. We don’t have kids. But we do have dogs. Oh, and they’re awesome and we’re awesome :)

Don’t hate Lore and Pancho because they’re hot. Don’t hate us because we have such hot clients either!

Post by Seba, translation by me.

I’m not sure if you heard the news or anything like that, but last week, there was some kind of storm near the coast. Of course I had no idea. I don’t even watch TV. Anyway, the next day, my dad woke me up and said, “Seba, we’re going to the beach house, a tree fell on the roof.”

I woke up Kyle, I asked her if she wanted to come to the beach house to lend a hand. She said yes, so we grabbed some things to clean up whatever we found, we grabbed Papito and we took off. We couldn’t take Machasa with us because he sobs hysterically when he’s in a car, so we’re not still there yet for long trips.

On the highway there were trees on the ground, people cleaning up the roads to Algarrobo, a couple billboards knocked down, etc. It was nothing horrible, but you could tell that there had been a strong win.

While I was driving I thought, “It’s probably the same old crap — a couple of branches that blew down, or a little tree from the garden that cracked in half — in a couple of hours we’ll clean it all up and get home in time to watch the Germany game.”

For those that have been to the beach house with us before, you can see the house from the gate. When we arrived, I looked and thought to myself, “Mother trucker, there’s an entire tree that fell on the house.” My dad couldn’t see anything from there and he asked me what was going on, what I could see.

Basically, the view was the following:

As soon as we arrived, we realized that there was really nothing we could do — just pick up and clean a little bit. We grabbed a couple saws, amongst other things, started to cut branches down, and after ten minutes, I wondered…where’s Kyle?

I walked around a couple of times to see where she had gone and I found her in the only corner of the lot with sun, with Papito:

I mean, the idea was never that Kyle got to work, just that she accompanied me. And either way, we couldn’t do much. So while Kyle and Papito sunbathed, my dad and I cut a couple of branches, we got things in order and cleaned up the trash.  Afterwards we got empanadas and headed back to Santiago — there was nothing else to do!

And after all the mental anguish that my poor mother had been through worrying about her dear house, around 5am one morning, she woke up and remembered that the house has insurance. It’s an insurance that costs 2,000 pesos ($4 USD) a month and covers everything.
