I went to Target the other day. I bought a shirt. I tried on said shirt at home and realized I didn’t like it all that much. I also bought a giant rainbow umbrella on a separate occasion. Then I realized that I couldn’t actually bring it back to Chile with me so why did I buy it? I was starting to feel like a hoarder, stocking up on things that I didn’t actually need or want so I wanted to return both. I could only find the receipt for the umbrella.

So when I approached the customer service desk at Target, I said, “I need to return these. I have the receipt for the umbrella but not the shirt so I guess you’ll have to give me store credit.” She replied, “Did you pay for it on a credit card? If so I can look the purchase up and refund the amount to your card.”

My jaw hit the floor. When did life become so convenient?!?

I said, “NO WAY! That is SO cool! I can’t believe you can do that!”

…and the cashier asked, “Has it been a while since you’ve shopped at Target?”

I answered, “Well I shop here whenever I’m in the States but I live in a different country so I guess you could say I’m not a regular.”

She answered, “Because we’ve been able to do this since I started working here. That was more than two years ago.”

Whatever. My mind was still boggled by this new invention. It’s new to me :)

ETA: Seba just reminded me that I should update with a couple features blogs/publications have done on our weddings lately!

The lovely wedding blog Ever Ours, featured Caroline and Tommy’s NYC engagement (style) session. Check it out here!

Kat’s killer blog, Rock N’ Roll Bride, featured Anna and Andrew’s wedding in Santander, Spain. Check it out here!

And last but not least, Eco-Beautiful Weddings Magazine did a feature on Kat, who in turn used one of our pictures from Francisca and Juan Pablo’s wedding for the story. Check it out here between pages 32-35.

We should have some more exciting features coming up soon so I’ll keep you updated!

  1. Meanwhile, the best you’ll get in Chile is store credit, even if you have the receipts. Great customer service…

  4. That happened to me a little while ago and I was also floored. I kept thinking they would think I was lying and then I would go to jail for accepting the money or something like that at least. Yeh, living in South America made me really paranoid.
