As I’ve mentioned a time or two, we’re kind of obsessed with Spain. Though I fully realizing I’m basing everything off of nothing more than my silly tourist observations, I love it there. Our trip was pretty whirlwind and since Seba and I are such fantastic planners, we hadn’t actually thought much of it out. A guy gave us a map in the Madrid airport and on it was a circuit that you could walk and catch lots of the major sites. They had a short route and a long route. We started the long route on our first day there, but didn’t actually finish it because we got caught up eating tapas and drinking sangria in a plaza with Shana — not a bad way to get distracted really.

And we saw the outsides of lots of famous buildings and museums — none of which we actually went inside since everything was closed on the day we were out touristing. Again, planning, Kyle, Seba, fantastic.

Remember how my logic told me that if we hung out with people who had seen the Golden Gate Bride, while in San Francisco, then we weren’t actually missing out on anything by not seeing it with our own two eyes? Well that same logic told me that if I couldn’t go inside this glorious castle, taking a picture of a guard who worked there was pretty much just as good.

A place where bulls try to kill toros. We passed by it on a Sunday and the place was PACKED. Clearly seeing animals mutilated on a lovely weekend afternoon is a family affair :) FYI, I have nothing against bullfighting, I just found it interesting that Spanish people brought their very young children to watch this event.

We actually just stumbled into this Italian restaurant by accident and then later on when I was reading a tourist guide about Madrid — on the plane on our way home, like I always do. I don’t know why I never read those things before or during our actual trip — there was an article about the rich and famous of Spain and one of them said it was her favorite place for dinner.

This is on the inside of one of the castles when we went back a different day to check it out. We weren’t allowed to take pictures inside though, so all the rooms made of solid gold remain solely in my head.

And then, because I dance badly a lot, in countries around the world, everywhere we go, here’s an incredibly nerdy video. Dancing Kyle strikes again!

I don’t normally post on the weekend, but this is too funny to not share ASAP. And yes, Seba’s ok with me posting. Yes, Chileans, he still loves his evil, bitchy, gringa wife, even after she laughed with him over his mistake in English :) No hate mails please, not in the mood.

Seba: “We have to think of an idea!”

Seba: “We have to STORM BRAIN!”

Seba: “Wait.”

Seba: “Lo dije mal, cierto?” (I said that wrong, didn’t I?)
