If you’re sick of Ava Boo already, A. You’re nuts. But, B. Don’t worry. This is probably the last baby post for a while seeing as how I am now a gazillion miles away from my precious little niece :( WAHH, makes me want to cry!

The whole experience of Ava Boo’s arrival has changed my outlook on parenting. I still don’t want to be one, but it’s pretty cool to watch my brother and Lauron become Mom and Dad to this tiny little human being, that is so small, I can barely believe she’s real. I’m so proud of both of them. Lauron is an absolute champ. I have a newfound respect for her after this! Not only did the poor girl go through more than 12 hours of labor and 2.5 hours of pushing, but she completely stayed herself throughout it all. I wasn’t in the delivery room obviously, but I hear she was saying please and thank you to the nurses when they brought her water, she never yelled at my brother, or at anyone. And when ten thousand (ok maybe 20) people descended upon her tiny little hospital room two hours later, even though she had been up for 48 hours and GIVING BIRTH TO A BABY for a third of that, she was so gracious and happy and nice to everyone. If that were me, I would’ve been screaming at the top of my lungs for everybody to get out and let me take a nap. I’m just a nice person like that.

I’m so, so happy that we were able to be in Michigan for Ava Boo’s birth. Seeing this huge moment for Kelsey and Lauron has really been amazing. I love them so much. And I already can’t wait to come back to Michigan to see Ava Boo again in April, when she’ll be GARGANTUOUS because she’ll be four whole months old. WAHHH, crying again.

Those are some FINGER toes! That’s my brother’s baby, for sure.

But they’re such cute finger toes that I really couldn’t stop taking pictures of them :)

I used to think that newborn babies were way floppier than this.

Kelsey went outside to smoke a victory cigar with Ava Boo’s godfather. I think that he felt cool having a personal photographer following him.

  6. How adorable! Congratulations to the happy family! I miss my one and only niece a lot, too. She just turned 9 a couple of weeks ago, and it’s hard not to see more of her. At least you have beautiful photos of this cutie.

  13. Fellow “I do not want to be a parent at all” girl here, but I’m totally stoked about my brother having a baby. =) I’m sure I won’t shut up about him/her when they arrive, as well. Haha

  16. That picture of your sister in law holding the baby is amazing. She is so alert. She does not look at all like a new born. She was born ready for your camera!
