So a little backstory here. I love these Leah and Nils. That’s the first and most important part of the backstory. The second part, is that during our session we were talking about traveling and crazy international weddings. They mentioned that their wedding would have people from around the world. To this day, I think it’s one of the most international weddings we’ve ever photographed — and that’s saying a lot. Anyway, somewhere during this conversation we mentioned that Seba is obsessed with Scotland and we were planning a trip for next year to the country of kilts and lovers.

Then during the toasts, Leah’s mom mentioned that her daughter has always had a way of bringing people together. She said that even though they’d always lived a multi-cultural lifestyle and moved between countries that Leah would bring people together no matter where she was. And judging by the amount of people from almost every continent who attended the wedding, Nils shares the same characteristic of being a connector of people.

So those are the backstories. Here is the frontstory.

Leah and Nils sat us at a table with Nils’ brother, so we could chat with him, because he lives in Scotland and they remembered our conversation about our trip there.

WHO DOES THAT?! Who in the world remembers that their silly little photographers are taking a silly little trip to a silly little country while they’re planning a wedding?! Only one of the nicest bride and grooms in the whole entire universe. It absolutely touched my silly little heart that they thought to do that.

So here goes some of my favorite pictures of people who bring people together. Hope you like.

That is Leah’s grandma’s garter, a real five pence, and the four leaf clover that her grandmother wore in her shoe when she got married. Isn’t it cool that she thought to keep them for Leah all these years later?

The broach on the bouquet was also Leah’s grandma’s.

Also, I should mention that the cool artwork you see in this post all belongs to Casona Canaveral, which was Allende’s vacation house/love shack where he’d take his mistress back in the day. The house has so much history. I believe that someone at the wedding mentioned that when Fidel Castro visited Chile, he stayed there. Correct me if I’m wrong. I was more focused on taking pictures than getting my history lessons right.

Love.

Adore this one of Nils and his dad getting ready together.

7 circles.

So cute!

One of my favorite shots ever. I am obsessed with Leah’s laugh, it’s contagious!

There were lots of pretty details from the day. The vintage Cachantun bottles were my favorite!

AHHHH, everything about these next four that Seba captured of Leah and her dad, is so wonderful. They make me tear up!

Nils’ mom was so excited too, her face lit up when it was time for her to dance!

Haha, Nils!

You have to look the picture on the left for a minute to see what’s going on, but we all know I like that kind of abstract photo that makes you stare. That’s when they’re being lifted up in chairs and thrown around. Such a fun wedding!

  1. OK – well Leah is the cutest thing ever. The end.

I feel like I can FEEl her laughing from these pictures Kyle. If that isn’t success – I am not sure what is.

  4. You have good taste Kai, you always like the ones that I like the most.

Katie, the vintage details also ended up working out really well because the decorator people who did the flowers gave everything a vintage look as well…which was not even planned to go with Leah’s details, but did go with them perfectly!

And yes Deidre, agree completely. She really is.

  9. Just stunning work, Kyle. I am so jealous I didn’t take some of these shots myself :) The preparation shots of this very lovely bride, and the ceremony work is some of the coolest photography I’ve seen. And you’re right, the bride does have a radiant smile – I can see why you were obsessed with it.
