It’s been a while since I did one of these posts, but I figure since busy season is starting now — 3 weddings and 5 sessions in the next 10 days, AHH! — I should post the older behind the scenes pictures so I can start accumulating new ones.

I personally think we have a really fun job, but if these kinds of posts are boring to you feel free to tell me and I’ll stop doing them. I always like seeing this sort of thing on other people’s blog which is why I do them too.

My bestie in the U.S. said she wanted me to do more personal posts, so I’ve been trying to go every other day with photography and then personal — though there’s a pretty fine line between the two. Which should this count as?

This is Juan Pablo and Francisca’s wedding at the Fundo San Miguel.

The hotness that is Monica y Mako.

I don’t even know who’s session we’re doing here because we did a bunch at Cerro San Cristobal last winter and I’m sure I dangled my camera out over the river more than once. I’m a risk taker like that :P

Andrea y Gonzalo’s boda at Casas del Bosque. Well, this is actually at their house pre-matrimonio. As you can tell, Seba I rely on Seba to be my workhorse at all times.

Erin and Matt’s baller wedding at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. Man I wish I were really as skinny as the distorted wide angle lens is making me look!

I don’t think we ever even posted this session. Did we? I have a huge backlog of maternity/family portraits that I swear, I will eventually put up on the blog!

Giving Seba the death stare for some unknown reason. See how much fun we have working together? This is at Ursula and Jaime’s boda en Casa 18.

Here we have the lovely Gisella and Manuel around Club Hipico. They threw oranges at each other all in the name of a good photo. So much fun!

Here’s Seba lighting himself…I mean lighting Romina and Christian in Bellas Artes :)

Robin and Matt look cute even from behind Seba’s arm at their engagement session at Stanford University.

Seba, please don’t pick your nose. Aldo and Denissse do not find it appropriate :)

Leah and Nils turned the camera on us at their session. I felt weird!

These are from Denisse and Aldo’s wedding at Castillo Brunet.

Look hard, there’s a wedding photographer up there.

See me in the top of the frame? That’s about two seconds before I kept walking backward and fell flat on my back in a pile of rubble. I’m so graceful.

And I like cotillon time!

Here is Seba at Lucie and Felipe’s wedding at Casa Bosque.

Testing the light. Glowing ears isn’t the look we were going for.

We’re all getting cozy in bed.

Seba….moooooooove!

And Seba’s Dirty Dancing…or something. I’m not really sure why he won’t stop doing this pose. Maybe because it cracks me up every single time.

And here I wanted to make a special note. One of our brides, Sam, getting married in March, made the cupcakes and cake for Lucie and Felipe’s wedding. They were DELICIOUS. See, that’s why I looked as ridiculous as I do in the below photo. She is opening a bakery in Rancagua. If you want to eat right, contact Sam at Cafe Tisa! Also, isn’t it so cool that one of my future brides made the baked goods for one of my current brides? I love that connection.

Leah and Nils getting married. You saw this photo as part of the blog post from their wedding at Casona Cañaveral. Seba was not in it :)

Oops. Seba and I usually do a pretty good job of staying out of each other’s way, but I snagged the primer location here first!

More of Seba’s dancing skills. Gotta love him.

Where’s Waldo Kyle?

Here is my husband at Natalie and Stuart’s engagement session in Vina del Mar at the Quinta Vergara.

Ok, so I had to throw my favorite makeup artist in the whole wide world in the post. Here’s the very talented Rodrigo Farrah on veil duty at Maria and Luis’ e-session at the biblioteca.

He’s the best light tester ever. From Marcela and Felipe’s session at the Centro Cultural de Gabriela Mistral (or something like that).

And I don’t know where we are here, but Seba’s so cute in these two!

So there you have it. That’s a wrap up of our behind the scenes photos from the past 8 months or so! Boring, or worth posting? What do you think?

  7. Oh keep doing these for sure! They are so much fun! I am cracking up at the one with Seba RIGHT in the mirror. I think it’s good to show all the work, equipment, testing and crawling on your bellies it takes to capture all the awesome shots.

  9. Definitely post more of these. Not only did the pictures make me laugh but so did your captions. I love your “death stare.” You look so harsh! I think I may have gotten that look more than a few times when you were a teenager!

  10. Hey Kyle! We “met” (online, anyways) in 2008 when I was about to do a semester in Santiago. I don’t know if you remember Laura Schnell from Tampa, but she was a good friend of mine in our program. :) I had a great time in Chile, and I’ve been lurking oon-and-off on your blog for a while. One of my goals for the new year is to leave more blog comments/spread the love, so I wanted to emerge from lurkdom. :) And to say that these behind-the-scenes photos are definitely fun! I love what I’ve seen of your photography– it manages to be elegant and modern and totally kickin’ all at once. Thanks for posting these….totally NOT boring!

  12. You look so pretty in the photo of you and Seba from Leah and Nils’ session! Seba doesn’t look too bad either :) But I think the photo of Rodrigo throwing the veil is my favorite.
