Natalie and Stuart’s wedding was beautiful. Not because they got married in a gorgeous vineyard between Santiago and the coast of Chile. Not because Natalie wore an amazing deep purple dress. It was beautiful because of the emotions.

I got the impression that more than wanting an actual wedding, this was a party that Natalie and Stuart threw because hey, they’re really in love, so why the hell not? Both Natalie and Stuart are a little on the shy side but even an idiot could still see how much they care for each other. They couldn’t stop laughing with each other all day long.

And yes, I really do mean all day long. Tradition be damned! Natalie and Stuart got ready together and then walked down the aisle together. I ADORE that they did that. I wish I would’ve done the same at my own wedding. I didn’t know I could. I didn’t know that I could make my own rules at my wedding. Natalie got it though. She made her wedding her own in every way, from the purple dress, right down to the cake that she sliced off part of her finger making.

Natalie and Stuart were so wonderful to be around, their happiness made me happy. They radiated joy. I felt so very lucky to be a part of this celebration.

We started out the day in Valparaiso, before heading to the ceremony at the winery.

I blogged their preview in black and white because I didn’t want to spoil the surprise of the amazing purple dress. Did anybody catch that it was a dark color even though the photos weren’t in color?

Sorry Stuart, couldn’t resist these pictures :) Too funny!

I have a sneaking suspicion that Natalie married Stuart in large part due to his ability to make great faces. Here he is helping her tie her dress up.

This photo reminds me of one I saw on Jonas Peterson’s blog. He’s amazing, so don’t compare me to me him, please!

Do you see poor Natalie’s bandaged up finger? She got stitches the day before with no anesthesia!

This is how you do family formals. Why not laugh a little and enjoy them?

My favorite of the day below. So simple. But I love it so much.

  11. I figured that’s why you did the preview in B&W, but I also knew that there was a purple dress, so I don’t think I get credit for that one. This wedding just looks FUN.

  16. Kyle, you are a master of shadows. I’m convinced of it. Your photos have depth. I have no clue how to articulate what I’m trying to get across, but I am ALWAYS so impressed by the quality of every single photo you post! Your favorite is also my favorite. It looks like it was a great wedding.
