I mentioned our weekend getaway to the Indigo Patagonia in Puerto Natales in a short post last week, but I feel it deserves more than just one day on the blog. We had the most amazing time. Pre-Indigo Patagonia I was like my camera’s battery when the warning light goes on and I look at “battery info,” in the menu, see it’s running on 3% and is about to die at any moment. Post-Indigo Patagonia I was like the battery after it’s stopped blinking and has been fully recharged. Reeeeeelaaaaaaaaxed and recharged. It was hard to come to reality and hit the ground running.

On the flight down to Puerto Natales we flew over some of the most beautiful airplane scenery I have ever witness. I was so stunned that I actually forgot to take out my camera until we had long since passed the pretty part. This is the ugly part :)

We were flown down by the most entertaining Lan pilot we’ve ever had. He announced all the major sights of the South of Chile as we passed over them, “To the right we’re flying by the Island of Chiloe. Now on your left you’ll see the famous Glacier Whatever It’s Name Was. Now look! You can see the Torres del Paine from here!” And then he would turn the plane to make sure both sides were able to see everything. I loved him.

At the airport we waited about a half an hour for the bus to pick us up to take us to Puerto Natales. It’s about a 2.5 hour bus ride from Punta Arenas, where the airport is. I can’t say whether or not the scenery is nice because we slept through it all. The night before leaving we were up until 2am and we had to be at the airport at 4am. Needless to say, we were a little sleepy on the trip down.

But getting to the hotel made us instantly feel better. The rooms are beautiful. Super open and light and so cozy. Everything is heated by woodburning stoves and it feels SO good to come out of the cold and go up and take a hot shower and then snuggle into the most deliciously comfortable beds you’ve ever slept in. I’m not going to lie, we took like a three hour nap as soon as we got there :)

These hammocks are so perfect for reading Seba wants to install some in the new apartment instead of having couches or chairs.

Where we spent most of our time.

There are three jacuzzis on the roof top, lots of places to read, massage rooms if you want one, a sauna, and probably more things that I didn’t notice.

The hotel restaurant, Mama Rosa, has very yummy food and also has a cool ambience. I loved the decor.

It was cool how the bar area was also a place for people to read and drink and just generally chill.

I love this picture.

All the rooms have such amazing views.

This is what we looked like for most of the weekend — tied to our Kindles.

I think this was when the jacuzzi I was getting into was really hot. I didn’t know Seba was taking a picture, I couldn’t see him because of the reflections on the window.

This very well might be my favorite spot in the whole wide world. I want to go back and live in that jacuzzi overlooking the fjord.

Also, for those of you who wanted to know how I was levitating in the last post — I just jumped. Nothing fancy.

Disclaimer: According to the FTC rules I have to tell you that Indigo Patagonia sponsored our hotel stay. However, please note — I am not being forced to blog about this and I wouldn’t say any of it if it weren’t true.

  10. This post exudes relaxation. Please tell Seba that my dream home would have hammocks instead of furniture too. Also, I love the whimsy of the photo of your legs hanging out of the bathtub. I am so glad you had such an energizing break!

  15. It’s really neat to see you and seba in some photos (along with the awesome non-wedding scenery)!

Question: Are a lot of photographers camera shy?

  16. Haha, yep Kelly, I think they might be. I don’t love being in front of the camera at all!

  19. I used to have one of those hanging hammock chair things in my room at home. I used to sit and read in it for HOURS. One day, the bolt that attached it to the ceiling broke and I plummeted to the floor. I definitely got the wind knocked out of me.
