Scotland is crazy cool. We already know that. So going to a ridiculous castle where Mary Queen of Scots used to live IN Scotland? Even better! I don’t always get super excited about paying to enter in tourist sites, but this one actually had me pumped up before we went. And it did not disappoint. For anyone traveling to Edinburgh,  the Edinburgh Castle is worth is 15 pound entrance fee, in case you were doubting.

The castle has a great view of the whole city. Edinburgh looked bigger from above than I would’ve thought!

Love how there are tons of canons pointed right at churches and national monuments.

Francine’s husband, Andre, is a photographer, so it was nice to be traveling with someone who actually knew how to use our camera in order to take a picture of Seba and I together. Granted, we ruined it. But, that’s not his fault :)

This was the prison part. There were some American revolutionaries that were held here back in the day. I say back in the day because I don’t actually know the dates of when America fought for her independence. Apparently I was a bad elementary school student. I should know these things.

See the little American flag carved into the door?

William Wallace! Oh Scotland, how I love thee :)

  3. Bah. I wanna GOOOOO. My clan (McLeod) has a castle on the isle of Skye and they do weddings there. Apparently, I could get married there for free, since I’m a family member. I’m about ready to retool our entire wedding plans. Stop posting tempting pictures of Scotland, damnit.

  4. I love castles. I would definitely pay the money to visit one, and I have! It looks like it was a cold day there, even better for visiting a drafty old castle ;)

  6. I so wasn’t prepared for the weather when I was there, and it was absolutely freezing & the guide on my tour of the castle gave me his jacket to wear the entire time. Chivalry is alive & well in Edinburgh. Love the pics too :)

  7. I was going to say that it looks like you guys had some wicked weather but then I saw you both wrapped and was like, ‘What?’ Haha. When I was in the Highlands, whenever I’d go for a walk, there’d be beautiful sunshine and then snow and wind all within the space of 15 minutes. Crazy. :P
