We just got back to the U.S. from Europe, and I am jet-lagged and sleepy, so my apologies in advance if this post is shorter and more confusing than usual.

While we were in London we were SO fortunate to have the chance to both meet and photograph Tara and Stuart! Tara works with Francine and they’ve become really good friends over the past year, so I was positive that they’d be awesome. They were.  Not just at the photo session, but I mean, awesome at life in general. They’re also expats. Tara is from Canada and Stuart is from Australia. They love travel. They’re really laid back and really fun. Just the kinds of people you want to be friends with.

My only regret is not meeting them sooner in our trip! But thankfully we got the chance to do our shoot with them, during a beautiful sunny day, nonetheless, and afterwards they helped us celebrate our last day in London before we left for Barcelona!

With no further ado, may I present to you, their Shoreditch photo session. We walked through the neighborhood that they live in. They’re leaving London soon so this was a way for them to document some of their memories of their time in the U.K.

Nothing like a subway station packed with people to warm up someone who’s a little camera shy :)

Obviously we had to get at least one shot including a pub. This is London, after all!

I have no idea what they’re doing to each other’s faces in this shot, but it looks funny!

I absolutely ADORE this next shot. So. Very. Much.

Hehe, behave yourself Tara!

Squirrel! Believe it or not, there are a few of these giant wall squirrels in that area.

Perfect lighting…right in front of the gas station.

BAM! Love this last one! Faaaavorite!

  16. I am going to say this and then go ahead and hope that I do not sound like a massive creeper: My life was lacking in love while I was away from your blog. You see, Elijah and I are a world away from each other and it’s impossible not to miss him every second of the day. Your blog made me remember the beauty of present love, the everpresence of it, the all-infusing force of it. I am so happy to be back on the internet, seeing your photos and admiring the truly unique and honest way in which you see the world.

  22. Great stuff Kyle. I love London, this makes me miss it. I also love love love that shot of the two of them in the alleyway, and the one with them against the graffiti wall shot between the two passers by.

  23. I was just heading to bed when I thought ‘I must check Kyle’s blog, see if there’s any more European shots on there’ and I found this one…which is funny only because I was right *there* today. My first time in the Brick Lane area, and I only recognised it because of the Buxton Street road sign (David M Mc recommended Buxton St to me).

I love seeing London on your blog. You see it in a whole different way to me and that’s what I completely love about your images. That and the insanely cool and gorgeous couples you get! Love these shots!

  24. Eliza, one of my favorite things in the whole world is to see where other photographers have shot after I’ve photographed there and see how they see things differently!
