I owe a HUGE thanks to Eliza for recommending this amazing couple to me! Check out her blog and leave her some love if you have the time!

Ever since the minute we first spoke, I had been dying to meet Sarah and Gus. We spoke via Skype and they just seemed like such a fun couple. All they wanted was the day captured in a way that showed their friends and families having a good time and enjoying themselves during this moment that was so special to them.

We finally arrived. I met Sarah and her bridesmaids. They were all so lovely (see, how I’m being all British here. If there were an American couple I would’ve just said they were all so cool). I didn’t have a chance to speak with Gus as much, but if his toast was any indication…the man is hilarious.

Speaking of toasts, people keep asking me what was different between this wedding and a Chilean or an American wedding. Well, first of all, the people were a lot better dressed. That was by command on the invitation though :) But second of all, the toasts were SO funny! I felt more like I was at a comedy roast than at a wedding! The best part was that during Gus’ toast to her, I glanced at Sarah and she was FRANTICALLY taking notes. For the rebuttal!

Most adorable shoes in the world. Vivienne Westwood. I want a pair!

Everybody was nervous all day about rain, but in the end, Sarah and Gus had a beautiful day full of sunshine. It was amazing.

I love this shot taken with the 24mm tilt shift. It’s my favorite lens and neither Seba nor I used to use it much during weddings just because we weren’t fast enough, but I’ve been getting it out a lot lately and I’m so happy with the results!

Like I said, hilarious toasts!

Gus’ toast brought the house down. At the end there wasn’t a dry eye in the house — people crying because of sentimental reasons, and people crying from laughter.

Here’s Sarah writing her notes for her turn!

The Groom. Oh yeah, did I mention the details in this wedding were amazing? Within an hour of posting Sarah and Gus’ preview, three wedding blogs emailed to ask if they could feature it! That never happens to me!

  1. Whoa, this wedding — and your photography, as always! — looks amazing. I think it’s my favourite wedding I’ve seen on your blog so far. (And I incorporated British spelling in my comment, especially for the occasion. ;)

  2. You KILLED it! I knew you would! (Still sad that I didn’t know you, and you weren’t a photographer, when I got married) I am so, so glad that I was able to recommend you for this wedding, because it meant you had to come to England and I got to meet you! And because you were, without doubt, the perfect photographer for Sarah and Gus.

  14. Ha, I love the idea of a bride getting to do a rebuttal to the speeches, but maybe that’s just the debtater in me. Great style to this, and you caught so many great expressions and moments.

  18. What I love about this wedding is the facial expressions and little moments that you captured. Like the butt grab ;) and the woman making a face at the baby.

I’ve been meaning to tell you this for awhile. I feel like after visiting your website for so long I’m going to be way critical of my sister’s wedding photographer this summer! I hope he is able to capture the emotion and details that you are.

  25. Okay, that tilt-shift shot is probably my favorite ever done with a TS lens, ever. The hands, the father (?), so good!

And of course the rest is amazing! I have a feeling you’ll be shooting regularly in the UK now.

  27. Kyle, sorry to be so slow to comment but so so many thanks to you and to Seba for such beautiful photos. We are loving them and have shared them with so many friends and family who weren’t able to be there. Everyone without fail loves them – the slideshow says it all. Thank you so much – you captured the moment and you captured their vision. Perfect.
