It might seem like I am jumping around a lot. I always post work work first and travel pictures later so by now you’ve seen the photo sessions and all the weddings we did while we were in Europe and the U.S. on our last trip.  I post those basically as soon as the photos are ready because they are a preview for the client while I work on their full gallery.

But the travel pictures are in order of how we actually traveled. So again, it will seem like I’m jumping around a lot as I post these Europe pictures. But that’s because we did jump around a lot. We were in London for a day, went to Scotland from there, came back to London, went to Lyon, and then came back to London one last time before going to Barcelona. So I’m posting by date taken rather than putting all the countries in one streak of posts about the same country. Less boring that way, no? Right now I think we’re up to the third time back in London.

Zodiac monsters.

Thank you to Andre for the photo of us!

Mmmm spicy pasta — said in Homer voice.

A giant shoe! I would like to put that on the rooftop of my new apartment to signify that Kyle Hepp lives here!

So my goal for traveling is to try and take more pictures of people wearing clothes that I think are stylish. Usually I see a girl who looks amazing and just stand there staring at her like a dumbfounded idiot. I’m trying to be braver (and less creepy) and approach them to ask for a photo now. I asked this lovely lady and she graciously said yes. Francine distracted her and made her laugh, and VOILA! I was soooooo excited when I saw this frame on the back of my LCD! THANK YOU Francine for helping me take this!

Oh and in the night light her shorts actually came out even more red in the photos, I had to desaturate them so they weren’t blinding. But doesn’t she have awesome style? The 80′s shirt knot and leather jacket make me love her look even more. I took a photo of a girl in Paris today similarly dressed.

Giggle :)

  3. Fashion photography does seem a natural extension of your work, and potentially a nice addition to the kitty. However, after listening to a bevy of designers, models and stylists lament their long hours and miserable conditions, it seems absolutely contrary to your personality.

However, if you’d like to try your hand while in Paris I might be able to put you in touch with someone needing some photos. Of course one or two of the better connections aren’t talking to me anymore, mais c’est la vie…

  6. I love your idea to photograph people who have great style. This is an awesome photo collection – I love the people at the bars and the details you captured like the William/Kate bags…were people actually carrying those?

  7. I love these photos, they just look like London in the summer (I was there in December… NOT the same!).

The Snog frozen yogurt and the girl in the red shorts are great. Those zodiac heads were in NYC when we were there last month! Must be a traveling exhibit…

  9. I always try to sneak a photo. I never have the guts to ask. Then they always turn up crooked, with the heads cropped off. I should take a hint and work up the guts.

  10. So, this post is affecting my life in ways I cannot quite explain. Ever since wrapping up that project in Cuba, I have been unable to take photos, unable to tell stories, unable to string together a narrative or pick up a camera. This post is inspiring me to do it. You find beauty in everything, Kyle, and you have such a unique way of piecing together images to tell a story. That is inspiring me to dust off my camera today and take a walk.

Thank you, a million times over.

  12. These photos are awesome! The street style photo is something new, and it’s great. And I got really excited by the zodiac animals because I’ve seen them before! They were at the art exhibit I went to in Sao Paulo last year. What a coincidence, right?
