Thank you to Kingston for sponsoring this review. Please click here to learn more about Kingston. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective. All opinions are my own.

Please don’t stop reading because this is a sponsored review! Well, it is, but there’s a cool give away! Instructions at the bottom of the post.

I recently had the opportunity to review this nifty new Kingston flash drive for Clever Girls. I have to say, I wasn’t overly excited about this. It’s not that I have anything against flash drives, but technology isn’t really my thing (I know, in spite of the fact that I’m a photographer).

We installed the software that came with the UrDrive right away, it wasn’t difficult at all. Which again, is fortunate since if anything computer related takes more than three minutes I give up.

Once the software is installed, you just plug it in and there are already folders for Aps (games! YAY!), Music, Favorites, Photos etc. So Kingston is basically pre-organizing your life for you. Then you can go through and add whatever you want from your existing computer. The benefit of this is that it basically makes it feel like you’re carrying around your regular laptop with you in a flash drive, because it contains all the files you want, organized like a regular computer.

You also get a few gigs of online storage that come with it, so you can double back up anything that’s extra important to you.

I don’t know if I’m doing a good job of explaining it, but this video is more coherent than I am and explains just how the device works.

The only downside is that it’s not compatible with macs. I’m assuming they’ll probably come out with a Mac version in the future though if this does well.

SO, now that you have heard all about the device, I want to give you one! I get to give away a urDrive USB five pack!

Leave a comment on this blog post with a valid email address. I’ll use a random number generator to choose the winner on Monday, November 14th. If you are chosen I’ll email you to find out where to send the prize. Sorry international peeps, but I’ll need a U.S. mailing address to send the drive to the winner.

  1. I’ve never used a Kingston flash drive, but I love their CF cards and mini SD cards. I’ve never had problems with them.

  3. Honestly, this device sounds kinda cool, because I´m also horrible with new technology. It´d be nice to keep things organized and easy. I now realize how my mom feels when trying to send a text message…

  4. I have a US mailing address – yours! Or really I could use my own for a change and just be patient to get it. Our flash drive is lost somewhere, so a new one would be lovely.

  7. I SO need one of these – I’m terrible about backups. (If I win I’ll have it shipped to my darling father who is collecting a nice pile of US-only items for me =)

  11. I LOVE flash drives. I’m always looking for new ones! I normally carry 3 with me between home and work so I can keep my library of graphics with me but with this it sounds like I could do it all with one! Count me in for this give away!

  12. Nice! Looks really useful. I’ve never won anything before, but if I do I’ll probably give it to my boyfriend in Ecuador. He has to switch between computers a lot more than I do ;)
